After a combined training session, our Years 4 and 5 boys played a lively match against their Mitcham counterparts. Each of the team made significant contributions: Eli Boateng made great use of the space to run round would-be tacklers; Joseph Craig and Joshua Collins' determined defence was evident; Charlie Richer, Kieran Murray and Job Forde provided good support and linked the team together; and Alex ran strongly with the ball, showing good confidence for a new player. Man of the match, though, was Jaylan Ryan-Coker who excelled in attack and defence breaking tackles running with the ball and smothering the opposition's breaks.
The excellent team effort paid off, Streatham-Croydon winning by 6 tries to 3. It was also very pleasing to hear Mitcham supporters note the positive, friendly spirit which our team played brought to the game. Well done, boys!
