Streatham-Croydon host Southwark Tigers

Our U9s and U10s had a mixed training session and matches with Southwark Tigers. There was a great turn out from both clubs with the group on mass starting with a game of bulldog to get the muscles moving and the blood pumping. We then moved on to the tackle practice, helping the girls and boys to get their heads in the game and warmup their shoulders ready for the competitive games to come. At this point we split up into the U9s and U10s.

The U9s started their session playing a mixed game of rugby netball, meaning we mixed players from SCRFC and Southwark. This worked really well and proved that rugby was the common bond, with all the players just getting on with the game and communicating and playing well together.

We then moved to the main event of SCRFC v Southwark Tigers!!! The game was good and hard, with some good tackling and fast running and passing. Unfortunately for SCRFC a couple of missed passes and tackles meant that Southwark won the match 35-50 (or 7 tries to 10).

At the end of the session we all got together as a group and came to the conclusion that everyone had played well and had had a really good training session and match. All players did their best and the Southwark coach also commented how well all the players had got on together.
