U13s Frozen out by WImbledon RFC and go out of the Treasurer's Cup

A day after England gave up hopes for a Grandslam in Murrayfield against a determined Scottish Side, the U13 squad played a delayed cup fixture against Wimbledon U13B due to the half term break. The weather conditions were biting and with many other fixtures being called off due to frozen pitches, it was a testatment to the ground staff who have kept our pitches playable.

Having played and lost to Wimbledon last season by a single try (25-20), it was hoped that the team would get the better of them this year.
However, Wimbedon started strongly and after 10 minutes went 2 tries up. Wimbledon played with a level of intensity and desire that our boys could not cope with. Then Jaden Wallace-Anderson, playing his debut for the club made a try out of nothing and scored the first of his three tries. Wimbledon responded with two more tries. Aathi Thiru-Lewis gave Streatham-Croydon a lifeline with a try on the struck of half time. 10-20 at half-time.
The second half was more competitive and and both sides traded a try each but with 10 minutes to go, the boys tired and conceded 4 unanswered tries. Jaden completed his hat trick with the last play of the game.

Disappointing as the result was, the boys played in good spirit and were gracious in defeat wishing Wimbledon the best of luck in the semi-final against Farnham U13B.
