Minis and Junior End of Season Awards and Celebrations 2018/19

Minis & Juniors Going From Strength to Strength

The last Sunday in April (28th) marked the end of the Minis and Juniors Season and in keeping with tradition, a combined Awards and BBQ celebration event was held. Thankfully the weather held up and made it a lovely afternoon. Click here for photos of the day.
The BBQ was arranged by the parents and was well attended. Many thanks to Moji Forde and the other helpers who manned the BBQ and served the food. The club, as ever is grateful for special deal given by Domino’s Pizza. The children (and the parents) loved them.

Squads across all age groups performed well at the various end of season festivals and the club is proud of their achievements.
All players received an end of season medal for their hard work and dedication. The following players received individual awards:

The Christopher McCarthy Award – Awarded to the player at the end of the season who most typifies Rugby’s Core Values (Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline and Sportsmanship) on and off the pitch.
Winner – Nathan Addy-Walker

Aside from the trophies and medals, special mentions are given to the players who this season have made it into the County and Club development programmes and played representative rugby.

Conor Oresanya played for IQ Irish Exiles u16s against Boys Colleges of Wales on 31st March and during the Easter holidays (14th – 18th April), he was the sole SCRFC and John Fisher School representative in the Harlequins u16 Academy Festival which took place at Wellington College.
Harlequins played Worcester Warriors, Saracens and Sale Sharks and won all three games. Conor played in the Worcester game on the right wing and scored 3 tries. He also played half a game in the Sale game at Full Back.
The club is proud that we can produce players of this quality and look forward to giving our younger players the opportunity to attain the same levels of success.
