Sobering start for Streatham-Croydon u15.

On paper the teams were evenly matched. In fact at half time the score was only 12-5 in favour of the hosts.

Even though some players were having to play out of position because of unavailability the boys started well.

Early in the first half, Reeds picked up on a mistake on our 1st line out on our 5 yard line and with a strong driving maul, scored their first try.

Just as the boys were getting back into the game, William Robinson took an accidental knock to the head and took no further part in the game. Jude came on as William’s replacement still nursing an minor injury and played a stormer.
Reeds went 12-0 up before Sam Kabia and Jaden Wallace-Anderson combined to score our first and only try.
The boys won a scrum between reeds 22 and the 10 yard line. Sam moves from the flank to number 8. On winning the put in, Sam picked up fr the base of the scrum and ran at Reeds defence sucking them in before passing the ball to supporting runner Jaden to finish off the try.

At half time, the hope was that the boys would convert their ascending dominance into points but instead conceded two tries in quick succession.
Try as they might, our boys could not find a way to get back in the game conceding two more tries before the final whistle.

Not the best start to the tournament but expect to see a better performance in the next round on 17th November against Old Ruts.
