Report By Richard Maye, U10/11 Coach
A great day was had by the under 10/11 squad who attended the Warlingham Festival. We kicked off the festival with our toughest match against Warlingham. It was a very competitive game and saw us trail 10-0 at half time. However, we dug in deep and managed to pull it back to 15-10 before letting the home team seal the victory with their fourth try in the final seconds. We did lose 20-10 but were consoled by the fact that they went on to win the tournament.
In our next match, we were able to bounce back with a convincing win over Beckenham, due to some fantastic running and some furious tackling. The following games saw us play against Wimbledon and Old Alleynians which were also very close affairs.
We didn’t win the tournament, but we captured the hearts of the crowd who gathered to see us. The coaches and parents from the teams admired our tenacity.
Big thanks to all the coaches (Nathan, Laxman, Andrew and Femi) and all the parents who came down to cheer on our boys. Special thanks to the entire squad: Ben Bahadur, Charlie Richer, Eli Boateng, Gerrell Jackson, Jaylan Ryan-Corker, Joseph Craig, Job Forde, Kieran Murray, Marley Lyttle and Oskar Biggart. We are proud of you all.
