Streatham's warm up left a lot to be desired on Saturday as players were held up in traffic and spirits were uncharacteristically low. However the 1st team skipper Barney Barnes made the objective clear: "bonus point win" and "show this league what we are made of".

Fortunately when the whistle started the game the entire Streatham side switched on showing a unity of purpose that has been lacking this season. Basic phase play up the pitch seemed to rattle the 2nd in the league place holders OH who struggled to organise culminating in two tries by the SCRFC side within the first 15 minutes. OH suddenly awoke and proved to be deadly when their backs had possession and space giving themselves 2 tries in the first half. However, Streatham stuck to the game plan by maintaining possession and for once not falling foul of the referee. Defensive training clearly paid off as after the first two tries OH struggled against Streatham's defensive back line which was epitomized by Rolstone's "Man of Steel" performance.

The ever reliable Streatham pack gave another solid performance that gave the platform needed for Streatham's back line. The basic game plan kept Streatham ahead with one standout moment of flourish when no. 9 Josh put no. 10 Kai on for a chip and chase that despite dubious catching resulted in another try. Try scorer and eventual Man of the Match Lamont consistently tested the OH defensive line.

12 points ahead with 10 minutes to go Streatham ground down the clock and after a dodgy try saving tackle by Dan and Ibby's kick down the centre of the pitch that extended the last play by 5 minutes Streatham held on for a great victory.
