Strets put in best performance of the season to come from behind to beat league rivals.

After a disappointing loss away to Guilfordians last week, Strets knew that a big performance was needed to get back into form and remind the league of their qualities.

After some inspirational words from coach Matt Hawkes prior to the game, the Strets team clearly didn't need any more motivation and pump before stepping out on the pitch.

From the first minute, the linespeed was there to see, with dominant hit after dominant hit being made to keep Old Suttonians behind the gain line. Returning captain Barney Barnes led the defensive line making some signature self-preservation-less face tackles. Unfortunately some ill discipline led to a quick two penalty lead for the opposition. 0-6. Cheered on by a good away following, Old Suttonians scored a converted try in the corner, after some good hands and quick running.

With the Strets scrum returning to form, and adding to the forwards dominance with the lineout, led again well by Craig Metcalfe and Jason Edwards, Strets could finally provide the backline with the front foot ball they have been yearning for for weeks. Some silky hands sent a flying Ben Cowell through the middle to score under the posts, triggering the fight back. Harry P converts.

Two more penalties from HP follow, to bring the scores to level, after some positive, gainline-breaking running from the backs. In one of the best fly-half performances for Streatham in recent years, Harry Peddle weaved his magic, calling a beautiful backs move, and holding the pass until the perfect moment to send Ben Cowell through again, before being tackled in the opposition 22. Who should step up, but the meat pie hungry Vinny to score. Harry P steps up and converts, again.

Some beautiful hands from outside centre Jack Kelleway, powerful running from inside centre and former prop Charlie Pattihis and clever kicking from 9 Angus Mainland ensured Strets played in the right areas. Another penalty from Peddle followed.

The Strets dominance was wearing the opposition down, and after a good break by Jack Kelleway, Charlie Pattihis screamed for the ball on the blind side before intelligently putting Vinny in to touch down in the corner. Conversion, from the sideline was slotted with ease. Big up.

Strets and Old Suttonians then traded a couple of penalties, ending with a score of 33-16. A really positive performance to take into the rest of the season. C'mon Strets.
