Streatham followed last week's loss to the Met Police with an equally frustrating performance against London Media. Take nothing away from the Media boys they deserved their win, they worked hard and took the opportunities that came their way. But for Streatham the loss of Prop Daniel Birchmore from injury, Scrum Half Russell Moorcock from a 3 week ban, Full Back Tim Perry and Martin Hindshaw from work commitments and you start to see the picture looming.
At this level you can't lose core personnel and expecting to keep playing with the same style and flair that you started the season with. With Max Dawe and Ed Williams on debut and in core positions Streatham just couldn't find their rhythm despite a really well taken try by Kai Cassemis 5 minutes into the game.
And slowly the frustration and panic began to sink in again and the decision making started to go awry. With Old Georgians and Worth Old Boys next up for Streatham they have very little time to sort it out before the go up against the two league leaders. However if they get it right the team have the perfect opportunity to get back into contention very quickly.
Significantly it must be said that the team continue to pick up bonus points at every opportunity and if they can cut out their error count they could very quickly turn around the season.
Some hard work needs to be put in over the next couple of weeks but if Streatham can get their attack structure going again then this could turn around very quickly.
